Doesn’t this put a whole new spin on the ‘X’ in X-Files?

David Duchovny In Rehab For Sex Addiction

LOS ANGELES – David Duchovny has entered a rehabilitation facility for sex addiction. In a statement released Thursday by his lawyer, Stanton Stein, the actor said he did so voluntarily, adding: “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

The actor’s publicist, Flo Grace, confirmed the rehab report, which first appeared on People.com.

She and Stein both declined to elaborate further.

Duchovny, 48, plays a sex-obsessed character on the Showtime series “Californication,” which earned Emmy nominations for casting and cinematography. The show’s second season begins Sept. 28. Showtime had no comment Thursday.

The actor appeared in the film “The X Files: I Want to Believe” earlier this summer. He has been married to actress Tea Leoni since 1997. They have two children.

Yeah, I saw that article. Honestly, it’s not that surprising. The guy plays a freaking sex addict on Californication (stupid show, BTW), and Mulder wasn’t exactly a prude if you know what I mean. Maybe his characters rubbed off on him or something, like when Heath Ledger committed suicide due partially to his being too in-character while filming the Batman movie.

On the flipside, though, it also wouldn’t surprise me too much if it’s some kind of publicity stunt. It seems that being addicted to SOMETHING is like the thing to do for famous people these days.

One of the most simple tips came, not from a PR guru, but a guy who was trying to spruce up an aging building surveying business.

He was chasing after a large contract which, as a small business, could be make or break. He took a fresh look at the company’s offices. It had been decorated tastefully Yet there was an empty tea cup in reception. Not exactly the sign of a company that cares about its image. But it was the tea cup itself that gave him the idea.

What would happen if, instead of an empty cup, he offered visitors a tea, coffee and refreshment menu. No not a vending machine with powdered milk making pretty patterns across a cheap table. I am talking lemon tea or ice cold water served by a human. The staff could take it in turns to do the job. And I am not talking about a a full catering service. How long does it take to boil water, and throw a herbal tea bag in it? Even I can manage that!

Sometimes we are so close to our businesses that we miss the obvious tips and tricks which could help our profiles. I am constantly looking at my business for areas of improvement. We can get clouded in our thinking. How much is a lemon? A packet of fresh coffee? You could have “Coffee of the Day.”

Clients would remember their experience. “Oh that’s the place where they give you lemon tea!” Reception areas are so important in creating the right impression. It’s an age old trick used in sales prospecting. Mention their Homer tie and that sort of thing. But this is more about getting you mentioned by them.

You could apply this to website or blogs. Blue sky thinking is not just some buzz word of the 21st century, it’s not a bad way of looking at the simple things and doing them right. Sometimes the small tweeks cost a few cents not hundreds of dollars.

Brainstorming sessions of 20 minutes a day are worth ten days worth of management consultancy. What are we doing right? Anybody talked to our cleaner lately? Usually the best ideas begin with the phrase “well this is a mad idea but….” The knack is being able to turn that idea into positive action. Keep it simple. Keep it focused. And remember the Post It Note by 3M was an invention. How mad is that?

Did Democratic Party only be REACTIVE (knee jerk) party?

About Shirley Sherrod got fired by her boss, it is not just American people that bought the Tea Party half truth story telling about racist, Obama administration REACT to that half truth too. This incident proved that two black workers that Obama fired in the past were wrong too. In the past 10 years Democratic Party reacted to GOP smear because they are scared of Bush, now even they control power they still react like a wimp. Let’s see how FCC are going to do with the guy that release this half truth video. In ABC News this morning this guy already come up with his ill defense. Let’s see how much Pro active Democrat Party is going to be.

We’re seeing the reemergence of a very familiar pattern.

1. Right-wingers shout loudly about bogus story.

2. Fox News picks up bogus story, reports on it incessantly.

3. Right-wingers and Fox News start complaining that “liberal media” are ignoring bogus story.

4. Other outlets are shamed into covering bogus story, mini-frenzy ensues.

5. Pundits credit Fox News for “being ahead of the curve.”

6. Responsible media outlets determine bogus story is bogus long after damage is done.

7. Repeat.
