What is Purina and other Dog Food/ Pet food companies doing about the the GMO food problems?

Now with the news out that Genetically Modified food is leading to severe allergen problems and internal organ failure in mammals, How does Purina and other big pet food companies get away with feeding our pets Toxic slow killing crap food and telling us the corporate line?

I would like a Purina spokesperson to address this issue of Toxic GM corn and maybe cottenseed, canola and soy in their product lines?!

Why has this Common Food Been Dumped in Europe… Yet, is Still Rampant in the US?

“In fact, I talked to a former Monsanto scientist who said he was aware that colleagues had fed genetically modified corn to certain rodents and came up with problems,” Smith says. “But instead of pulling the corn off the market or withdrawing the application, they rewrote the study to hide the incidence of the problems.

He also said that three of his colleagues who were doing safety studies on Monsanto’s genetically modified bovine growth hormone stopped drinking milk after they saw the changes in the milk.”

Michael Specter, like so many others, are simply repeatedly parroting the same fabrications despite the fact that the dangers of GMOs are now well documented.

Even the FDAs own scientists have stated that GMOs can lead to allergies, nutritional problems, the creation of toxins and NEW diseases and should require long term safety studies.

But they too were simply ignored.

Understand The Information On Pet Food Packaging

It is a pet owner’s responsibility to ensure their four-legged family member receives the proper care for a long, happy and healthy life. Regular veterinary visits, exercise and lots of love are key roles in pet parenthood, but one of the most important elements in proper pet care is optimal nutrition. For both new and seasoned pet owners, keeping your animal healthy from the inside out means choosing food that has high-quality ingredients and provides balanced nutrition.

When deciding what to feed your beloved pet, Dr. Sherry Sanderson BS, DVM, PhD, DACVIM, DACVN, animal nutrition expert and associate professor, University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, recommends you look for the following items on product packaging:

• Ingredient Panel: Lists all food sources in order based on their weight, with the ingredient weighing the most being listed first. Ensure that one of the top ingredients listed is a high-quality protein.

Feeding Guidelines: Feeding guidelines on pet food labels are a starting point for the quantity of food to feed to your pet. However, pets are individuals, so the amount of food listed may not be exactly the quantity required for your pet to maintain an ideal body weight.

• Special Ingredients: Many formulas have special ingredients that carry out specific functions. Some to look for include: the prebiotic FOS (fructooligosaccharides) – now found in Iams and Eukanuba pet foods – to promote intestinal and immune system health; L-carnitine, a fat burner used in weight loss diets; and sodium hexametaphosphate, a key ingredient in many Iams and Eukanuba dog diets that helps promote good dental health.

More information on pet nutrition and prebiotic pet food can be found online at www.iams.ca or www.eukanuba.ca.
