Does anyone know how yahoo news shows video from other places like CNN and Reuters and doesn’t get sued?
An excellent question. My guess is that they have a contract with other news organizations that allows them to use their news videos, probably for a price.

why does the audio seem to lag the video on “live” news shows on my new LCD tv?
recently after I bought a new LCD tv, the audio and the video do not exactly “lip-sync” on live news shows. It’s not the same on all news channels and the lip-sync is ok on my dvd playback…..help
What you’re describing is very common today in the HD world, and normally the source is to blame. Here’s what to check:
If you’re using an HDMI connection from your source (cable or satellite), then try a higher performance cable, they do make a difference. Take a look at a Monster Cable HDMI starting with the 600 series or higher. These cables have more bandwidth ability than others so that could fix it. Another thing to try is to switch from HDMI to component video and audio cables, because they will both transfer up to 1080i resolution, which is the max of any source out there that you would be using to watch news broadcasts.
HDMI has not been done right by many devices specifically HD Cable and Satellite boxes.
If you are using a surround receiver, depending on the brand you may have a sync/delay mode for your input that may modify this.
The other thing is to change the coaxial cables that are bringing your signal in to make sure that they are RG6.
Last thing to try is to get a surge protector with filtration in it, like a Monster Cable Power Center with Clean power. Connect your devices and all coaxial connections through there and that could eliminate some of the interference as well.
